"Making the Emperors of Wyoming record in 2014, I had the opportunity to sing with a brilliant female singer from Milwaukee, Kim Henry, and really liked the harmonies and vocal textures our voices created. On the new ghost particles record, north central (2024), I thought the song “Oblivious,” a song I wrote about two people trying to get together, might lend itself to a male-female duet. I asked one of Madison’s best vocalists, singer Beth Kille, to give it a shot, and she did a terrific job, recording herself at her personal studio, Studio Gusto, with tracks I sent her.
